20 X 11-9 maxxis Razrs 6ply for me

 

I'm running 24x11x11 just to get more ground clearance for the differential- too many rocks here.

 

How do you like the handling with the 22s??? How do you like the overall gearing with the 22s right now??? Happy with the handling,stick with the same size,if not,drop down to a 20,but remember that the overall gearing in each gear will be much higher which means that you will be shifting much quicker,or more often into each gear,plus the top speed will drop on your atv by a few mph,but can be offset by increasing the front sprockets size by 1,or 2 teeth,or replacing the rear sprocket with one that has several less teeth on it which should get you back close to the gearing that you have now with the 22s on it...Check out the Kenda Klaws as they're a great tire for traction,long wearing,have a stronger sidewall,plus they're more economical than the other 2 brand named sport tires...:icon_ devil:

 

hey deeper the 250ex is shaft driven so no gearing changes can be made. But in retrospect a better bitting 20 will often out pace a worn 22

 

Dang,and I knew dat too...:icon_ devil: Was thunking I read 300,or 400 ex ...

 

I put some 20 inch tires on my wifes and it made it a whole new machine.no more bouncing and no more side wall roll.I tried several different tire pressures and just couldn't find a happy medium.

 

you will get better handling and speed less rolling mass and a flatter contact patch help in that.

 

still unsure if i should put 20s on the rear or 22s on my TRX250EX...any other input out there.

As a LONG time sport machine rider, ive never NEVER used 22's for ANYTHING, not even hairscrables or trail riding, ive never been happy with any 22 performance. Im positive you will be extremely happy with the 20's over the 22's. My daughters 250ex had the 22's ditched only about an hour after buying it in favor of some 20's. It in my opinion worked 100% better with just that first mod. We dont have the arrid riding conditions with rocks etc here but we got deep ruts and roots in our trails much the same.

 

22's if you don't ride hard. I'd go with 20's with the way I ride. I like to be able to slide into turns, and the 22's are too tall for me to feel comfortable with my riding style. Now, my wife runs 22's cuz she has a bad habit of getting stuck, everywhere. She also just rides up and down the trail, doesn't push at all.

 

I recommend 20" tires.They turn it into a different bike.The only thing I use the 22's for is creek riding and that is because they float better and don't dig holes.

 

well I'm going to try the 21x11x9 Sedona Bazooka tires since the shop here had a good deal on them and read some good reviews, i'll report back how they ride, hope to have them on the bike by the end of the week for saturdays ride.

 

wobbles?

its the best word to describe it ... not sure yet why but my whole bike wobbles since putting on the new tires, went back to the guy who mounted them and they eyeballed them and said they were mounted fine and that its something with the tire, so i'm back to the dealer where i bought them today.

any ideas why the quad "wobbles"
