Red or Green Plastics on 2014 Rancher?

Local 2014 Rancher Price?

I have found the perfect four wheeler for me, the 2014 Rancher 420 with manual foot shift, 4x4, and EPS. Only problem is I got quoted out the door price $6900. Is this a fair price and what would be a good price to try to haggle down too.
P.S. Red or Green? :icon_ banana:
Thanks, Casey

I would look into a foreman with diff lock!! More power, lower gears, 12 inch rims all the way around so you don't need to buy different rims to upgrade to bigger aftermarket tires, bigger factory tires, a full front bumper, 12 volt outlet, diff lock, and only about 700 bucks different around here. To me a much better investment!! And the weight is about the same!!

On a 4wd only three wheels spin. Both fronts don't spin or you can't turn diff lock locks all four wheels together so you can crawl out of whatever you're stuck in.

Ranchers only have a three wheel drive it is a (limited slip front differential TRAXLOC)!! The foreman has limited slip plus you can lock both front tires so both of them have power and spin to get you up, through and over objects!! To me if you have the money the foremen is a better bike by a long shot and money well spent!! Resale with the differential lock ect compared to a rancher would pay for it self!! Its getting to the point in the market that nobody wants just a limited slip differential!! They want DIFF Lock!! Or buy a grizzly better than both rancher or foremen in my book!!

As others have mentioned I would buy the Foreman for the extra $1000 or so dollars that it is because you get more power and diff lock which is not used all the time but is definitely nice to have if you get into a jam. Either quad you end up with will be reliable and last forever if maintained of course. The price seems pretty good to me but you could probably get a couple hundred off still. As far as plastic color, I would go with green plastics because the red plastics show scratches very easily especially in the sun. I wasn't pleased at all with the way my red Honda plastics looked after a year and I even wrote a letter to Honda to try and get them replaced because they looked so bad.

So what was it like having a Japanese person laugh so hard at you they crapped their pants when you asked for new plastics?

I have owned three and also insist on red! And yes it does get beat up looking but so does green and yellow. Camo is the only one that holds up well. I use MUCH Armor all on my four wheelers and they look almost new. Night and day difference with Armor all. If you dont shine them I can tell you this for sure, a scratched green one is uglier than a scratched red one. LOL!

I bought my Orange 2014 Rancher 4x4 with the DCT with no power steering for $6,238 OTD. The dealer that I didn't buy from has a red 14 4x4 Rancher with DCT and EPS for about $6,438 OTD and the exact same Orange rancher that I bought for $6,338 OTD.

I would say that you can probably do better on the price based on what I see around here.

Bought a 2014 orange rancher dct with power steering for $6036 out the door. I like the red but liked the orange more. Too many red ones out there, wanted something a little different. They also had a green 2014 rancher 4x4 es for 5100 OTD. I would have bought that but I dont like the green color and red was sold out and refused to pay 400 extra for camo that peels off.

The place that I bought mine from also had the 14 DCT with EPS in orange but they would not give me a very good deal. They wanted $6,900 for it and I wasn't going to pay that.

I also wanted Orange so I was kind of limited on where I could buy from since Orange was in short supply. It sounds like you got a great deal. I paid $200 more for mine and it doesn't have PS. Mine was also built in 09/2013 so it was almost a year old when I bought it and I didn't know about the date until after I bought it and got it home. I might have gotten a better deal if I would have known that fact. I guess I will know better next time.

Just pulled the trigger on a '14 Rancher 4x4 base model for $5590 OTD. I'm purchasing out of state so I can defer sales tax until/if I title in my home state.

They had another 4x4 manual for $5190 OTD with PS but I just missed out on it...someone had a deposit down already when I called :(

I took a 3hr drive (due to traffic) on Friday afternoon to pick up this quad. About 2/3 of the way there the salesman calls and says that when it arrived from the warehouse it had scratches all over the fender. Also, surprise, +2.5% to use a credit card (I had asked about all fees on a prior conversation).

I get there and they aren't willing to budge on price, do something accessory wise, waive CC payment fees. I get that its a quad, its gonna get scratched up, but when a dealer makes a commitment to sell me a new unit in new condition, and I make the drive, and that's not what they present to me, there's got to be some give. Their attitude was that they can relist it at the same price with the damage note it and it'll sell tomorrow to someone else. It was still a decent price, but I wasn't happy with their attitude or inflexibility. I walked.

That evening I found another dealer, closer, that had one for a better price. I went up on Saturday morning and they showed it to me in storage, confirmed their web price, did the paperwork, and prepped it while we went out for lunch.

$5443 OTD No BS cc fee :) Trailered it home and was out on the trail with it about 3hrs later. We camped that night and rode it all day on Sunday too.

I don't know about everyone else but the diff lock isn't all that. My buddy had one and the diff lock keeps getting locked on and it won't come out. Big hassle if you ask me. That's why I ended up with the rancher. Both are great, but I love my rancher, as you can tell. Good luck with either one you get.

The diff lock is in addition to the trax-loc that is on the Honda machines. Everything mechanical can have issues but I wouldn't write off the technology because a "buddy" had problems. The difference is that when you are completely stuck and are requiring a winch to get you out, the guy with the diff lock still has one more option to get unstuck. Once he is out if it stays locked, he will have a harder time steering, but is still mobile, while your still waiting to get winched.

My local dealer just advertised an Orange 2014 Rancher 4x4 with DCT and no EPS for $5,699 + $310 freight charge. I bought the same thing back in August for a little over $6,200 OTD.
