I would check the clutch cable, you should have a little bit of play, if its taught thats probably whats making your clutch slip. Other than that I have no idea’s.

Oh ya, lol, I don’t know man, sorry to not be of any help. Someone should be along to help you out shortly.

Sounds like it's time to replace the clutch discs.

It's not really that hard. You have to remove the front crankcase cover and the centrifugal clutch and then pull the change clutch apart to replace the discs. You will need a puller to remove the centrifugal clutch. You can download a service manual from the manuals/schematics section of this forum.

You should be able to get the all the clutch discs and a new crankcase cover gasket for around $100.

is there anything else i might need to do this i just called the local parts shop and they
have the 5 friction discs and the crankcase gasket in stock ill be getting them on tuesday
and will be changing them the same day

You will probably need a puller to get the centrifugal clutch off. Also, I would put in new oil. I think that's all you will need.

There's a special tool for holding the clutch, so it doesn't turn. If you don't have the clutch holder tool, you can usually get the nut off by using an air impact wrench. If you use an impact wrench, you should be able to hold the clutch with both hands while someone else uses the impact wrench to get the nut off. Be sure to wear heavy gloves in case the clutch turns, so it doesn't tear up your hands. Also, the nut has left hand threads, so you have to turn it clockwise to remove it.

If you want to pull your recoil starter off, you may be able to put a socket on the flywheel bolt and hold it on that side to keep the crankshaft from turning while you loosen the clutch nut.

Since you're not using an impact wrench, don't forget to unstake the clutch nut, so it will come off easier.

2 questions-what does unstake the nut mean, and just wondering how long does the centrifugal clutch last, never here probs with them just the friction disc part.

It's easier to show you a picture of a staked nut than it is to try to explain it. The picture below shows a staked nut. There's a groove or a hole (depends on model) in the shaft that the staked part locks into, so the nut can't back off. Just pry that part of the nut up, so it can be turned off. When you put the nut back on and get it tightened, you use a punch and hammer to bend the flange on the nut back down into the hole or groove, so it can't back off.

well i got the centrifuaul clutch off by takeing the recoil starter off and using a 3 jaw puller
now i cant get the center nut off this clutch also i broke 1 of the post that the spring bolts
go in on the pressure plate trying to keep the clutch from turning just ordered a new pressure plate guess ill need a new one of those only $35 and will be in this thursday so i have a little while to figure out how to get that nut off without breaking any more
parts

There's a special tool to hold the change clutch too. It's a round plate that bolts to all four of those posts that the spring bolts go in. It has a long handle welded to it to hold it and it has a hole in the center of the plate to get to the big nut. If you don't have one, the only way I know to get the nut loose is with an air impact wrench. You can hold the clutch with your hands and take the nut off with an impact wrench. I don't know of any other way.

BTW, the nut on the change clutch has right-hand threads so it comes off by turning counterclockwise. Only the centrifugal clutch nut has left-hand threads.

ok thanks, i figured they lasted along time and since they have 3 clutch parts that sling out they should be really durable.
