Marco: I know of no reason why you can't use chains on your Rancher AT. Just make sure that when you put them on your tires that they are snug and don't flop around. I plow with both my Rancher and my Rincon in the winter, and my Bighorn tires do really well in the snow. However, there have been a few times when chains would have helped a little bit.
I say, if you need chains, go for it.

 

Thanks Kentco. I'll give it a try then. I'm think'n new tires next year. Only got about 100 miles on these stock ones. I know I need to get out more. lol

Marco: I must say that the stock tires that come on most any atv are nothing to get very excited about. Although I hated to spend the money, one of the first thing I've done with any of my atv's is that I put on better tires (I love the Maxxis Bighorn radials). The Bighorns are fantastic tires and good in ALL terrain. They wear extremely well and long. They handle and steer like a dream. They have excellent traction - especially in snow and wet areas.
If/when you get to the point of new/different tires, look at the deals at Rocky Mountain ATV ATV Parts, ATV Tires, Dirt Bike Parts, Motocross Gear, Motorcycle parts and Motorcycle Tires | Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Most likely, you'll have to also change your wheels as Honda is very conservative with 24" wheels on the Rancher. I'm not one for large, or oversized wheels as it goofs up the intended design, and handling of an atv. However, 25" wheels work extremely well on the Rancher AT.

I couldn't use full chains on my bike because of the IRS system and ice scrappers that are mounted there also, so I came up with this.

 

What size would you recommend? 25x8x12 & 25x10x12? Also I wouldn't know a thing about offset.

 

Ice scrapers? This is all new to me.

I was thinking that was it from your previous post. I thought the chains ride further out on the tire though.
