As an example ...... '2008 Honda Foreman 500'
Listed on the Partzilla website.
TRX500 FA 2A
TRX500 FA A
TRX500 FE 2A
TRX500 FE A
TRX500 FGA 2A
TRX500 FGA A
TRX500 FM 2A
TRX500 FM A
TRX500 FPE 2A
TRX500 FPE A
TRX500 FPM 2A
TRX500 FPM A

Twelve variations listed for the Foreman 500 ...... confusing? Maybe not to some of you folks, but it really gives me a 'WTF moment' ....

Just a suggestion ...... could some kind, knowledgeable soul list the variations and make it a 'sticky' ... ?

I don't know what the A and 2A is all about, but I don't think it's significant. Here is the deal with the rest of it....

"F" = Four Wheel Drive
"A" = Automatic
"M" = Foot Shift
"E" = Electric Shift
"P" = Power Steering
"G" = GPScape

So this means that...

TRX500 FA is a base 500 Rubicon

TRX500 FE is a 500 Foreman with ES

TRX500 FGA is 500 Rubicnon with GPScape

TRX500 FM is a base 500 Foreman foot shift

TRX500 FPE is a 500 Foreman with ES and Power Steering

TRX500 FPM is a 500 Foreman foot shift with Power Steering

The same system works for all models, here is a couple more examples.

TRX420 FPA is a 420 with the Automatic transmission and Power Steering

TRX350TE is a Two wheel drive Rancher 350 with Electric Shift

TRX650FGA - is a 650 Rincon with GPScape

Clear as mud?
