i just aquired an 85 250 fourtrax . it has been in a garage for about 20 years , not being ridden . i had it serviced , new battery , fluids , etc... . it runs great , it needs some new wheels and tires . the OEM honda parts site i checked out only went back to 1986 models . i was looking at some black alloy wheels , is 86 the same as 85 ? i would appreciate any advice about wheel and tire choices .

Welcome to da forums...:icon_ devil: They have a 4/110mm rear bolt pattern, and a 4/144 front pattern I believe which makes narrows down the selection of wheels out there to fit both patterns..Paint the oem ones you have now,and order new rubber for them..They'll look great all freshly painted...You can order a set of adapters to adapt the 4/144 bolt pattern to a 4/110mm pattern which opens up the world to wheel, and tire selection...12" wheels front, and rear looks good on them old Fourtraxs ...:icon_ devil:

If you go the adapter route, you can prolly pick up a nice set of lightweight aluminum Honda Rubicon wheels for chea, err low cost which will bolt right on,not have any clearance issues, and look great when painted gloss/vivid black plus being super lightweight wheels, they won't rob you of any power as they weigh quite a bit less than your steel wheels do...Plus you'll be able to put any 12" tire out there on them...:icon_ devil:
