I put AN add on CL, looking for a 4x4 quad to rebuild and I got a response today from a guy with a 2000 400 ex. I dont know any thing about sport quads. He said he just paid to have the top end of the moter done said he just gave 1000.00$ to have it done.(that seems like a lot to me) I will have to get it from him and put it together He already came down once from1000.00 to 900.00 without even asking. He says they are moving and need the cash for the trip I'm pretty sure a thousand dollors is a good price. can you guys help? If i could turn this, I would be set with finance for my quads for awhile.

Last year I paid $1600 for my 2000 400EX. It needed a real good scrubbing and some minor TLC but had been maintaned properly, no smoking, compression was excellent and nothing was wore out except the clutch cable was fried. Came with A.C. nerd bars, front bumper and a ProArmor swing arm skid plate. Plastic was scratched up pretty good but no cracks. It had been used but not abused. I felt I got a decent deal. If you do buy it just be sure you get the title or at least a signed bill of sale. 
He paid 1000 bucks to have the motor redone, and you have to put it together?
