Just bought this wheeler and need to get some new tires. Wondering if anyone knows the maximum size tire that can be put on the stock rims. Currently has 23x8x11 on the front and 24x9x11 on the rear. Can you go with a wider tire without changing the rim? Looking for some additional floatation on snow. Appreciate any info.

You have stock rims on there - 11" - which will limit your tire choices. Most tires now are based on a 12" or 14" rim. I just put a set of 26" mud machine tires on my 300, on 11" rims, and it is fine.

I think you can go up to 28" tires without a lift kit, but even those may rub some. You also have to watch the width on the front or you'll rub during turns. 10" wide seems fine and some have gne up to 12" wide. I have 9" on front and 11" wide on back with no problems.

You should consider what your long term goal is because it is probably worth replacing the rims with 12". You can find some great deals on your local Craigslist if you want to save a few bucks going used.

appreciate the insight Greg1994 - so if I read you right putting on wider tires say a 10" (if I could find em) on those rims wouldn't cause any mounting issues tire to rim. just need to be careful of rubbing when stepping up.

I have never bought rims for a wheeler before. Are the rim bolt patterns standard or do I need to look for something imparticular for sizing the rim to the wheeler?

There is different bolt pattern . Yours should be 4x110 . And also consider the offset which I don't kno enough about to tell u but I'm sure someone will chime in and help ya .

rims

I got all different size rims on my 300's and they work , all the rear tires are 25's but I have 9 , 10 , 11, and 12 inch rims , some tires are 10 inches wide some are 12 , I had to use wheel spacers on the 9" rims as the wheel was 1/4 inch from the exhaust but that bike does have a 250 rearend in it , if I had to buy wheel spacers new I think I would just get rims instead , the spacers are pricey and I have never had one loosen up yet but think it is a good possibility that it can happen ----- the offset is important to get a proper fit ----- if you have to get rims I think the best rim size to get is 12 as there are more options for tire sizes and the prices are cheap on 12 inch rim size tires than say 9 by $15 a tire on the ITP's , I just went thru that

I was going to put bigger tires on my 1997 Honda Fourtrax 300 4x4 and I noticed that the tires are different sizes front to back. Do I have to find tires that will fit that ratio or can I put a different gear in my differential to even it out?
