the 4x4 light is flashing 4 times.... i just notcied that the four wheel drive isnt working either... if the battery is dead in it could this be the problem?

Code 4 is system voltage code, so it's probably your battery if it's dead. When the battery voltage drops below a certain voltage, it will flash that code.
