Can low battery cause ES to not shift down?

For context this is a Honda Foreman 500 4wd ES.
I looked this up on YT and mine does Not have the blinking light on the screen indicating all the other issues when a Honda with an ES transmission has difficulty shifting, it simply would Not shift down only. THEN I put it on a battery tender and the problem went away. Seemed fine day 2 when I charged it up fully.

Can a safely deduce that the low battery caused the ES to not function properly?

Any good moly based grease- nothing fancy
you should come over to ************ and join up
Free service manual download for you machine and MUCH better and QUICKER help over there
We all kind of left these generic forums here for a variety of reasons but mostly because of spam and mismanagement and inability to edit posts etc...
Hope to see you over there

Absolutely! weak battery will cause slow/no shifts
Make sure your voltage regulator is working too, by checking voltage with the ATV off, then with it running
Should increase to 13-14.5 volts but not higher than 15vdc or so
Also, if its cold where you are you might re-grease the reduction gears for the shift motor
The factory stuff they used hardens into tar and makes shifts even more difficult with cold temps and weak battery
