so i have been working on my 300ex, it jumped a tooth on cam but set it back to normal now, before i messed with the carb so i am adjusting the pilot screw. when ever i punch the gas, the quad dies out a litle and has a delayed reation. what do you think i should do with the pilot jet? or is it something else. and theres a bit of an air leak in the exhaust so it cuases the back firing.

two and a half is too much. i did two and it would barely start on me, i'd have to put one choke for it to just barely start but turn off once i hit the throttle, which means it needed more air. from what i determined it is best between one and half and one and three fourths

well the quad was running bad so i cleaned out the carb and did not pay attention to the pilot screw and just unscrewed it without thinking of its setting. i dont get why two and a half turns out would work but two doesn't? lol im am so confused.

ok but do you guys know if the timing chian if off by no lie, half a link, if that would make a difference. i tried going up and down a tooth, but cound not get the cam gear to be flush with the head.
