Got a chance to run my new quad (purchased about month ago) 2007 TRX 400AT around the back yard. Had a little trouble idling at first (cold about 25 deg) but once warmed up ran great. Shifts well, good power band, everything looks like working well.

The top speed I could hit was 35 mph. Got same top speed on 4x4, 2x4, auto mode and esp. Thought this model could come closer to 50 mph. Aware a lot comes into play on top speed of ATV.

Has 25" tires on rear, originals on front. I'm running about 250 lbs, engine has around 600 hours. ATV is used so my speedometer could be off, some undisclosed engine mods done, could have spent the last 6 months at the bottom of a lake for all I know.

Anything I should looks for to make sure everything is set up correct. Planning on pulling the spark plug and carb when it warms up to check them out. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Guess I could look at reducing some weight on unit (mainly driver)

I would try using a GPS for speed, most factory spedo's are OFF, BUT most tend to be off stating higher speeds than really going(every street bike I have owned has been this way too lol)
there is a chance the atv has had soe sort of a gear reduction in its life time maybe??

when you say front tires are stock, they are still the same size as the rears RIGHT?
meaning if 25's are on the back, 25's should be on the front, just different width's
if not, that is an issue when in 4x4 mode, can cause drive line damage!
