Hello I am new on here. I let the bike sit up for over a year. Took gas tank off cleaned it out took petcock off cleaned it new spark plug new air filters also new fuel line and filter. I took carburetor off and got local dealer clean it put everything back together. Now heres the problem....it fired right up but wouldnt idle unless I give it a little throttle..so I got the idle set and sounds like normal...took it down the street and it doesn run right at all..if I give it gas it acts like theres no power starts to bog down..shift to higher gear and goes a little faster then bogs down like not getting enough gas or air...so I adjusted the fuel/air mixture screw 2.5 turns out. ..still same..I tried adjusting the screw 1 turn out 2 then 3.5 turns out a little at a time..still does same thing...when the screw if further out it will backfire....thing is it idles like normal....I am at a loss for this...the bike has 900 miles on it and have never adjusted anything on it before letting it set up..is there anyone that can help

Dirty gas., my 300 fourtrAx was doing that.. Or like my 450 did stretched timing chain

Are you sure the dealer put it back together once? I took my brothers 110 carb to the local dealer to get it rebuilt (new jets and all) and he didn't tighten the throttle jet (sorry im not sure what its called as i'mnot all too familiar with carbs) properly and it would sputter every time you give it gas. I just took the carb off and tightened the jet and it worked fine! Best of luck!

I would say your not getting enough fuel to fill the float bowl up. from what your saying ?..it sounds as if your running out of fuel.

Pull the fuel line off and see what kind of flow you are getting to the carb.

You might be better off taking the carb off and checking/cleaning it yourself. I know around here most of the "shops" about half clean carbs when they say they do..

I brought it to a mechanic because I dont have time. This guy used to work at local dealer. The fuel lines are new with a new filter on the fuel line. I ran it yesterday and while running down the road when it started to act up I pulled the choke out at the same time. It did run a little bit better but not like it should. It just acts like its fuel or air starved. I will never let it set up for that long again

Well I was having running issues I couldn't figure out, did everything your dealer did, and then, gave ATV to my dealer, as I gave up?
Dealer re did everything again, hadATV for 3weeks.
they called me said its good to go, loaded on trailer, drove 40 miles home, and it wouldn't start to get it off the traler?
Back to dealer it went? 3 More weeks there, they say, problem is a bad CDI
replaced that, and it ran great for 4 months or so, then again poor idle running??
Turns out they charged me for an OEM , CDI, and used a aftermarket one, which died;??
Replaced that with a new, OEM; cdi, and running fine ever since?
