TRX90 Air Suction Valve/System? What and Why?

Ok, so I've done a search and found very little on the subject.

The questions are as follows: What is it for and is it actually necessary for these machines? We've bought two identical '01 TRX90's in the last two weeks for our girls and I've noticed they both have this air suction valve deal. While neither machine is having any trouble, I just would really like to know what they're for and why they're there. Can they be successfully removed to eliminate future issues? How? Thanks guys.

You can thank California emissions for that, it takes unburned oxygen through the exhaust, pushes it back to the air box and recirculates it through the exhaust again. You can remove it, but I'd make sure you know that it is technically illegal if you live in Cali, and you will have to plug any holes leftover.

Below where that bracket (the one with 2 bolts and gasket) goes into your ATV, you will need to seal that with either a machined bracket with no opening, or you can try plugging up the line permanently. To answer your question... NO, I have no experience with it, but the Motorcycle guys do it all the time!

Lol. I hear you guys. :)

Can anyone tell, what will it do to the fuel/air ratio if it was to be removed as far as make it lean or rich? Being that it would clean up the mixture of garbage, would it improve power any?
