I am trying to decide which to go with for my next quad. Obviously the 400 would have to be used, and if I go with the 420 i would get a new one. I like the switch activated 4WD, styling and the display/GPS of the 400, but the IRS and FI are pulling me the other way a bit. I'm also a big fan of the 400's Hydro-mechanical CVT v.s. the Dual Clutch setup in the 420. What do you guys think? Thanks,

Out of the 2, the 420 would be the better choice. It has more power, more ground clearence with the IRS, better starting and more responsive with FI. In my opinion it handles better and looks better. And if you go the route of buying new, you will get a warranty. Or, you could always get a Rincon. Better in every conceivable way, in my opinion.:icon_ peace:

The biggest problem so far is that I cant even find a used 400 anywhere near me! These things are rare! I was trying to do a cost comparison, weighing the pros/cons of new v.s. used, but it seems my only option is a new 420. Now the question is PS or no PS?

Yeah, I'm thinking I'm going to want it anyway, I plan on putting a plow on it, so the extra assist might be good. Hows the reliability of this machine's trans? Anyone have any major issues? Power steering issues? I will search of course, but anything I should watch out for?

My wife and I have had our AT's for less than two weeks and about 20 miles but I searched around on several forums and didn't find anyone posting any problems with the transmissions. It does run on oil pressure so when it's very cold, it requires warming up for a few minutes for it to shift smoothly. Both have ESP and it's worked flawlessly so far.
Good to hear! Anyone know what the invoice is on these models? (with PS and without?) Sounds like I'm going shopping this weekend!:noworktomorrow:
