had complete top end rebuild everything new but push rods and rocker arms valves set at .006

 

Pushrods or cam chain. Trying to think of an engine that has both. Help me out folks.

 

i drained the old gas and put fresh gas in it .it helped a little but noise is still there i am guessing it is cam chain , i checked the push rods and marked them when i put the new head on , rolled them across a flat surface , and checked for up and down play on the piston rod but i didnt go past the top end thinking that was all that was wrong with it , i rebuilt it for a friend , it had been sitting for a couple years with a seized piston

 

Check the valve seats. My 2006 was making a noise like that, apparently it was one of the valve seats that had separated from the head and was rattling around. I didn't figure it out until the valve seat had shattered and taken out the piston. Apparently it's a somewhat common issue.
