so i have been working on my 300ex, it jumped a tooth on cam but set it back to normal now, before i messed with the carb so i am adjusting the pilot screw. when ever i punch the gas, the quad dies out a litle and has a delayed reation. what do you think i should do with the pilot jet? or is it something else. and theres a bit of an air leak in the exhaust so it cuases the back firing.

no with choke on it needs more fuel. pull the plug and see what color it is if its black then too rich if white too lean so after that you can determine what it is or take the air box lid off and test your theory if it runs better with it off then its too rich and i highly doubt it is it sounded way lean. if it runs worse then its lean do as yamahasucks says and try out what did you do to the carb? and why?
