wrecked 1985 trx 125 transmission

my cousin and i got this 1985 trx 125. it was rolling backwards and i shifted it into first and it made a loud noise, it worked fine for about 10 seconds then the chain got caught up in the transmission and made a grinding noise, we then fixed the chain but it still grinds and jerks, any ideas how to fix this, reverse doesnt work either

sounds like you messed up the transmission to me ?. this means tearing into the tranny area.
