'97 300 Fourtrax 4x4: Push the button, the green light goes out but starter does not engage. Cross the solenoid -- starts. Purchased new solenoid from the dealer and the same problem exists. What should I look for??

Welcome to the forums. There's a small gauge red wire that bolts to one of the posts on the solenoid. Trace that wire from the solenoid, through the 15 amp fuse and on to the keyswitch. Look for any connections that may be loose or corroded and not making a good connection. If there's no problems, the starter button my be bad inside the handle bar switch. The wiring diagram for the starting system is below.
