1985 fourtrax 250 new batt wont start dead at key switch does not lite uo or lights come on fuses are good in the front where do i go next when i kik start it the lights comes on but does not start

A little confused on what's going on.... hard to understand what you're trying to say.... It could be a world of things, no spark, dirty carb, bad cdi.. etc

To rule out a fuel issue take the air filter off and spray alittle starting fluid in and kick it. It will run for a few seconds if it has spark and compression. That would confirm fuel being your issue. If you still get nothing you either have a spark or compression issue. Im betting it will be spark and its more than likely an electrical issue since it dosnt try to turn over when you hit the start button. You can try a screw driver and cross the terminals on the solenoid and see if it will crank over then. That would tell you the solenoid is bad. But with a solenoid bad it should still start with the kick start. Again why im thinking its an electrical issue stopping it from sparking more than likely. Welcome to the forums!
