I have a 1991 300 fourtrax thats been setting for awhile. starting enrichment valve in carb was seized up.i put new one in. starts hard,and wont idle. runs good in mid range. any ideas ?

welcome to the site. Did you change the gas? Whaat about the airfilter? Is it clean and properly oiled?

has new air filter,it had oil already on filter. also,drained the gas tank and put new gas in.

Agree ^^^....Sounds like you have some trash in the carb. Welcome to the Forums!

pull the carb..clean out the jets..your idle jet is stoped up from gumming up from the gas being in it to long...just tear the whole carb down..and give it a good cleaning.

i took carb off and cleaned all jets and passage ways. slow jet on bottom of carb was really gummed up. put it back together and it fired right up. starts good,idles good, runs good,thanks for the help.
