I have an 07 400 rancher I just replaced the cdi box after it sat for 2 years not running I took it out for a test drive to see if everything was good but it would only go 30mph and hit the rev limiter can someone help me find out what is wrong

First question that comes to my mind , is where did you get the CDI from ???? Is it a OEM Honda CDI ??? ----- But , then you say it sat for 2 years , I'd say dirty carb bad fuel , high speed jet clogged

If you were to go with a after market CDI , Rick's is the only after market CDI to use , don't know if they make one for your model , Rick's are no limiter on RPMs

You may have to do a "Top speed learn". There is a manual on here in that section to show you what to do.
