Guys for those of you who have made a winch plate mount for your Foreman what size steel did you use? If you have some pics let's see them.

It’s a tough one isn’t it–no good kit exists.
i have tried to fit one up to my 86. The old cycle country kit mounts to the bumper–posts a 1000 pound limit for their kit–that bumper is pretty far forward of the frame.
So i am considering how to modify my accessory bumper with 1/4 plate across the horizontal supports and align the fairlead withe the front crossbars.
Shadetree welded a mounting plate across the frame forward of the fan. I think he took the fan guard off to do it; warn 2500 i think

@Goober, no..i did not remove the fan guard , I had a plate cut out of 3/16 steel, wide enough, long enough to be welded right down on the cross tubes of the frame OP. warn pro vantage 2500S winch. the roller fair lead mounted right on the end of the steel plate behind the plastic front grill. I did have to cut off a section of the grill for the fair lead, as well as cut out the inner splash guards on each side of the fender wells to access the winch knob control and have clearance for the wires to hook up, other than this ?, works great !. DO NOT MOUNT THE WINCH TO THE FRONT RACK OR BUMPER !. this is a very bad idea..folks do it..and I have no freaking idea why ???. the frame is the strongest part of the atv..AND THIS IS WHERE THE WINCH MUST BE MOUNTED TOO !.

lol, thanks 4 the wb !. nah..if you can't understand those directions ^^ ?, then you don't need a winch on there !..lol. i'll look through my pics, and see if I still have them ?, those may have been eaten by the '' pc ghost '' ?..lol.
