you have a wire that comes out of your key switch..and goes back into the wire harness..it only goes hot when you turn the key on..if you have a 12v test light..you can find it very easliy this way..that's what they mean by wiring your winch up to a keyed power source.Just wondering where you guys with winches picked up key power for the winch. I have a 2007 TRX420 4x4. Thanks.
even though that is the easy way to wire it up. only one problem with it..if for some reason your winch decides to hang..or the rocker switch hangs in the on position..you can't shut it off..which means..you will burn your winch motor up.i wired mine straight off the battery. i havnt had any problems with it draining the battery or anything. alot easier to hook up too. mine works fine
as long as you can get it unhooked quickly..then you should be oki got it on quick disconnect. taks just a couple seconds to unhook
Yep, the '07s have it too, it's a 10 amp circuit.Should also be an accessory fuse in your fuse box. It's for an optional power outlet and is otherwise unused (in the 09's anyway).
