Just wondering where you guys with winches picked up key power for the winch. I have a 2007 TRX420 4x4. Thanks.
you have a wire that comes out of your key switch..and goes back into the wire harness..it only goes hot when you turn the key on..if you have a 12v test light..you can find it very easliy this way..that's what they mean by wiring your winch up to a keyed power source.

i wired mine straight off the battery. i havnt had any problems with it draining the battery or anything. alot easier to hook up too. mine works fine
even though that is the easy way to wire it up. only one problem with it..if for some reason your winch decides to hang..or the rocker switch hangs in the on position..you can't shut it off..which means..you will burn your winch motor up.

Thanks for the help. Found my voltage checker and found out which wire was hot with the key on and wired it to there. Works fine. Almost can't wait to get stuck somewhere to try it out. Now to hook up the snow plow.

Should also be an accessory fuse in your fuse box. It's for an optional power outlet and is otherwise unused (in the 09's anyway).

Yep, the '07s have it too, it's a 10 amp circuit.

On my 09 I believe it was the pink wire on the left handle bar.. I used a tester to find one, but I think it's the pink one.. I would not wire directly to battery.. The same with a horn...in my opinion

I have Mudlites on my machine ( in the signature) and my buddy has the identical quad with 26" Maxxis Zilla's. I have ridden with him side by side, and we even swap machines. Hands down his Zilla's are a better tire in mud and sand than my Mudlites. I might actually sell my Mudlites and get a set of Zilla's. We ride pretty hard and spend a lot of time in swamp and sand.

Pink wire off the ignition switch is key on hot, it's where my winch hooks to as well.
