Now that I need a new transfer case I might as well have the front diff rebuilt. The pinion gear is sloppy so I'm sure the rest of the bearings are bad as well.

I found a guy on eBay that rebuilds the rear diff for $185 but not the fronts. I'm not sure why cause they are basically the same.

So who do I send the front diff to?

get the all the parts for the front diff, oil seals, bearings, pay shipping to me and back, i'll do it. as for the transfer case ?, the gasket is no longer being sold when I last checked the other day ?. not sure about the bearings inside or gears either ?. you will need to see if you can get all the internal parts ?, box it all up, pay shipping to me and back to ya, i'll do it.

just so you know ?, don't bother taking it to a honda dealership !, they won't touch it with a 10 foot pole. anything over ten years old ?, honda will not touch it !.

Thank you sir I appreciate it very much. I'll be in touch after I round it all up. I just bought a transfer case off eBay tonight. Gonna start looking for all the bearings and seals.

Shadetree, what works best for you to get the pinion gear out of the case?
pinion gear ?, normally I use my 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 square tubbing to remove the lock nut, then I just tap the pinion gear out from the ring gear end.

Ok, great. I've seen others that tapped it out using a punch/drift and just wondered what works best for you. I'm hoping mine doesn't have to come out, but I'll probably tear it down this weekend to find out.

yeah, once the lock nut is out, you can just use a drift punch, and tap it out from the ring gear end :). that needle bearing in the end of the case on the pinon gear , if its bad ?, that wont be so easy !..lol.
