I have a slip on, and i was woundering , the spark arrestor at the end of the pipe has rings. There are thirteen rings or spacers then the end cap. what happens when you add or take away the rings? Does this adjust anything?

The diffuser disks. If you take them all off you will loose some low end, and itwill get louder. Your better off leaving them on.

Agreed! every now and then you will need to take them off and clean them out as exhaust carbons will build up and restrict the flow.

I did take them off and cleaned them with carb cleaner. Is that all you can do to the muffler? Do you do anything to the base of it ?
