I installed a LED bar, but have yet to wire it in. Would like to wire it into light switch circuit for low beams, assuming it will stay on for high beams also.

I am an old fart so am looking for an easily accessible place if possible.

Other concern is current draw. It takes 2 amps. So wherever it goes, the circuit has got to handle an additional 2 amps.

Any help will be appreciated.

LED's don't draw much, so you can tap into headlight wires. You are, however, incorrect on the low beam/high beam circuits.

There are three wires going to your headlights. Green is ground, and then you have blue for high beam and white for low beam.

If you hook the light bar to white and green, it will turn off when you hit the high beams.

If you wire to blue and green, it will turn off when you turn low beams on.

Thanks. GOOD Info. Will connect bar to High Beams. Any suggestions on easiest way / place to tap into the high beam wires? I am thinking about splicing into blue wire at harness from switch on handlebar. But am concerned about making it watertight. Ground wire can go anywhere.

I would sure wire the light bar to a relay. If you want the light bar to come on with your low & high beams but turn off when you turn off your lights you can hook it up to the rear running light. That's how I wired my custom headlights I made.

I will be installing a led light bar soon.I found where I can tap the hi beam at the front by headlights.My rancher is a 2019 found the 3 wires white,green,hi beam is blue with a black stripe.Will also use a fused relay.

I cant take credit for the rear light idea, the idea was given to me by a member on here. You may not "need" a relay but id suggest one! I have one for my headlights and another one for my light bars. I tend to over thinks and have OCD pretty bad so to be 100% sure that I wasn't going to damage the bikes harness I choose to install a harness. Like I said, you may not need one but if for some reason you did over heat the factory wire, not only can you do damage to that wire but depending on how hot it gets, you could also damage the surround wires. Just my 2 pennies!

The way the headlights work is if you have the low beam switch selected power is only sent to the low beam, when your switch is selected to high, it turns off the low beam and turns on the light beam, it doesN'T send power to both the low and high when the switch is on high!

After all this conversation, I think I am going to wire into the rear running light, and will simply put an inline 5 amp fuse near the splice. My light is rated for 2 amps.
