Could anyone help me out, I have a 2000 400ex w/ 426 bore kit, fmf powercore4 exhaust, high compression piston, jetted carb.
I started it up today and it started right up and ran for about 3 or 4 mins and died, started it up again and when it started a small spark came from the starter cylinoid and died and when it died i lost all power no lights and wouldnt turn over. i put the battery charger on it for a bit and tried to start it and just clicking. jump started it of truck and fired right up but still no lights when giving it gas but if idles for a mionute my neutral light would show up very faint. what could the problem be? have never had any problems with it before. thanks for any help you could give me

I would check all the battery connections and the connections at the solenoid. it sounds like you had a wire come loose. Also check where everything grounds to the frame, make sure all the connections and contact areas are clean too.

welcome to the forums. it sounds like you have blown a fuse some where. also check your wire connections at the starter solenoid and the battery. sometimes they vibrate loose and cause problems like this.

bad battery..or bad starter..or bad starter selonoid..if it started when you jumped it from your truck with no problems..tells me your battery is gone..or about to..but..before you change out the battery..check all your ground connections..to and from your battery..neg..and pos leads. and welcome to the forums.
