if it fits in the left hand side of the differential , then washer ?, use it !. not all parts stay the same for all those years, they do replace/update/revise parts over the years.

Now I'm trying to figure out which way the damm thing goes. Metal washer facing in toward the gears or metal washer facing out toward the wheel. Lol

the seal metal part goes in first, rubber lip faces out so the larger washer goes against the lip. dab some grease on the large washer.
