I have a '97 300 Fourtrax that needs new tires.

What size

What brand

Where's the best place to buy?

I use the ATV for hunting - generally packed dirt trails. Minimal mud. I'd be fine with factory take offs but I'm told the new ATVs all use a different size.

At some point we may make it to the ATV park in Goldsboro NC... but so far that has not happened.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I like the ITP Mudlites pretty good. They work good on trails and aren't bad on mud, either. Plus they are 6-ply. If it was me, I would stay with stock size, but it depends on what you like. I don't really know where the best place to buy them are. Maybe Ebay, if the shipping isn't too high on them.

I have run 25" mudlite's on my 300 without any noticeable power loss and like Helmut said they are great for trails and mud if it's not the thick mud. If you run tires the same size all the way around make sure you use a little less pressure in the front to compensate for the differance in gearing between the front and rear.

i have the trail wolfs by carlisle and i like them. you can find them now for 70 bucks a piece instead of the usual 100 bucks. they are 4 ply.. the only thing i have seen to poke holes in them is running over barbed ware fencing (the idiot before me did this) other than that i have jumped on blown over trees and rocky creeks with great results

I have the same Trail Wolfs on the back of mine and have nothing bad to say about them! They dig well, ride well, and resist puncture well just as Honda4trax said.
