i have a stock 2001 honda 50ex and i was wondering what performance mods i shuld do i was thinking of exaust and nerf bars

On the 2fiddy, I would recommend a full exhaust, jet kit, air filter, and some maxxis Razr tires. You could also get some handle bars, front and rear bumpers, nerf bars, and maybe some wheel spacers. That would turn it into a nice little trail racer.

for a start I would put a new exhaust on it like an HMF Full Competition Series Exhaust. Motosport has it for $339.99 with free shipping. HMF is a very high quality pipe too. Im starting to wonder why my 400ex gets beat when it has a full Yoshimura exhaust (jetted) by a 400ex with an HMF slip on (jetted)....
Next go with a Aftermarket air filter. the stock foam doesnt flow very much but catches really well. Get a UNI or Twin Air filter(s). They catch just as much if not more dirt than stock and flow at least 50% more air than stock. Stay away from K&N if you do alot of dirty riding (mud and water).
Big Gun makes a high performance Rev limiter for the 250ex that makes your engine run higher RPM's. It sells for $125 on Rockymountainatv.com

with all this modifications note that you will have to rejet the carb or it will run like shit.

The HMF Compettion Series full exhaust is one of the finer looking and performing pipes around. sounds good too

maybe you should get a 400ex now??? There pretty damn fast just stock. I just got a damn good deal on mine when I bought it with all the aftermarket stuff...
