I am lookin to buy a atv from a guy and he dosent know what year and model it is, all he knows is that its a 250. So I was wonderng what models they made in the 90's? I know how to decode the vin but the guy cant find it.

MId 80's would be my guess the vin should be on a plate on te second fron bumper mounting bar the one closest to the ground.

The one in the craigslist ad is a suzuki, not a honda.

lt230 shaft drive no rear suspension.

I have one in my shop that a guy wants me to restore.

So that atv is not a honda? The guy says that it is for sure, maybe hes blowin smoke.

Its this but someone painted it blue. Made from 85 to 90 I think.

Your right Mdopole I didn't look hard enough. under the headlight is the louvered plastics common to the suzuki or that era. just tell the guy to look on the engine cover it will have Suzuki on it.

Thanks alot guys, I think Ill hold off on that deal. If the guy says its a honda and it not then he probily doesnt know what the hecks wrong with it.
