no clue what the D stands for ??. but I know what the rest stands for. F= FOUR WHEEL DRIVE, P=POWER STEERING, E=ELECTRIC SHIFT. where are you getting this letter D from ?, cuz I know its not on the sticker anywhere I don't think anyway ??.

don't worry about it, all you need to be concerned about the first 3 letters, FPE :).

Thank you Shadetree and Thanks Mac102004. Yes Mac you nailed it, it is also the 10th digit in the VIN Number.
must be something new honda started doing ?, all old models ( old school ) don't have any letters for the vin number in the model quote. see..even I learn stuff here !..lol.

must be something new honda started doing ?, all old models ( old school ) don't have any letters for the vin number in the model quote. see..even I learn stuff here !..lol.
Honda has been doing that for a long , long time --- but for some strange reason they don't do it every time ---- I have had about a 50/50 % ratio of bikes with the year code letter on the back end of the model and some not ---- Shade , you and me posted about that letter before --- an old mechanic I worked with years ago told me " Son , I forgot more than you will ever know " LOL ---

Look at any TRX300 under the seat, colour code decal, if it’s still there. Here’s an example....
