Hey guys! I did a quick search on the site to see if there was an aftermarket lsd for a Honda 300. I came up with nothing on here or google.

I have seen a few members listing that they have a locker though.

So is there somewhere I can buy one? or can I just weld the front diff soild?? I have a Warn 4 to 2 wheel drive kit on the bike.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but I couldn't seem to find any anwsers I was looking for. Thanks.

You're welcome.

Did you notice the years that High Lifter has listed for the Fourtrax 300? They have the years listed as '87-'00, but they didn't start making the 300 until 1988. A '87 model would have been a Fourtrax 250. But anyway, it'll fit yours.

Yes, that will work well with the Warn 4-2-4.

I was just readin on the highlifter site and see they also sell a spool locker.

Now I understand exactly how a locker works, but would assume a spool locker locks both wheels once one tire spins???

I would assume that the gearless locker is better as well?!?!?! I mean $40 compared to $300.

I'm just doing my homework before I purchase one, but want to make the right decision for my needs. I mean a locker will be awesome to have, but I'm not going to be over the front rack all the time in mud......

Anyone on here happen to have experience with either one, and can give me some advise or opinions???

Thanks guys.

The spool locker I think locks it all the time.As where the gearless would override when your tuning higher angles so it doesn't just drive you staight.

Yeah, the spool locks both axles together and there is no ratcheting or slipping. Both tires will turn the same amount all the time. Not good for the front of an ATV unless you're planning on going in a straight line all the time.

I did a fair amount of research today, and thank you all for your posts.

I now understand how a spool locker works, and the gearless one.

I did lot's of reading on the subject. For my needs it's most definatly going to be the dgl!!!!

All the guys I'll be riding with have larger machines than my 300, so I need every little bit of an edge I can. This will be a nice advantage over there bikes. No one I ride with has one ( that I know of! )

If you ride with any Yamaha Grizzlys, they have a factory locker. You can lock them in and out from a button on the handlebars.

They don't have a factory locker, then. If they have a locker, it would have to be an aftermarket locker that they added. I don't know why Honda doesn't put factory lockers in their ATVs. I think the Big Red side by side has them. Maybe they will start putting them on the ATVs.
