just got these old girls last weekend,

my boy's 11 and 8 are super excited to have there own ATV's

they need some TLC to be operational.

I got the 200SX running and took for a spin around the yard with it.

short list of repairs for each that I know of.
200SX needs a seat, Oil change, Rear Tires, Air Filter, Choke Cable not working, Front Brakes, Handle bar grips, Rear fender and front fender Plastic repair.

TRX 125 Repair list, Tie rod broke on left front tire. Got tie rod end with it to replace. Front rack/bumper missing whats left is bent to the right. Front brake lines have been cut.

ill be busy getting these old Honda's up and running but the boys can help out with the repairs and learn some stuff along the way. Heck I'll be learning as well.

Welcome to the forum....again.

Taking any pics as you work on them? I haven't even laid eyes on the 125 my buddy picked up for me, but always like to gather as much info as possible before I start working on something.

is the hondaforeman.com a sub forum of this one?

I haven't been on the hondaforeman.com very much and the traffic seems a slow compared to what I remember.

then I found hondaatvforum.net so I got signed up and posted here as well.
just will be looking for good answer's to any questions that I may have.

I can take pics as I work on them.

though I got the tie rod on the 125 replaced last night. Pulled off the front brake drum and the bottom brake pad fell off when the drum came off so thinking ill need to get new brake pads for it at some point. though wont worry about that till I have the front brake cables fixed.
need to get oil changed and battery's for the quads and go from there.
we are having some nice weather so i want to take advantage of that and put them to work or at least let the boys have some fun on them.

I will take pics as I update things on them.

I have been on hondaforeman.com for years though I haven' t been very active there, usually just if I have a problem and with honda they are few and far between.

got the tie rod replaced on the trx125 last night.

next is getting battery's and the oil changed on them and spark plugs.

On the 200sx I did spend 40 minute trying to get the choke cable unhooked from the carb and that was a no go for my level of mechanical aptitude I may take that to the local ATV shop and just have them due it.

worked on the 200sx as well doing some fender stiching.

also thinking I'll need rear axle bearing for this one as well as I had the rear tire off to fix the rear fender and there is some flex in the axle. didn't have time to look into that farther but its on the get it checked out list.

both front fenders got stitched up where there was a few small cracks.

working on getting rear axle out now on the 200sx.

Hub removal when fine and the first big skinny nut came off with out a problem, the 2nd nut/spacer was a bit more problematic had to call out the big tools and some leverage. 24" Pipe wrench and put a wood block under rear hitch and I stand on end of pipe wrench and jump a little. I'm 6'3" and 230ish give or take. any way got the 2nd nut off as well.

Those are a PITA. Nothing like the "crack!" when they pop loose though.
yep that the way the this project is going to go for me.

I wanted to replace the choke cable and after 1 hour of failing to get the cable detached from the carb I gave up.

I'll pay to have the shop fix that part for me. so far on my rear axle removal Im making slow and steady progress.
as long as I can keep making progress I'll keep going on this aspect of the rebuild.

was trying to get the side cover off to check the Oil Filter Screen and I got all the bolts out on the cover and it still didn't want to come off. I said the heck with it and put the bolts back on and filled it with oil and let the kid drive it around some.

is there anything I'm missing to get this side cover off?

I think maybe I'll take it to a ATV shop and have that done there? I also need to get the choke cable replaced and I spent 1 hour trying to get that off and wasn't getting anywhere with that so gave up on that as well.

I'm a OK mechanic sometimes if stuff goes well. I did get 2 new rear bearing and drive chain installed.
that all seemed to go fine just takes time.
