glad to finally get a used honda. trouble is I have no spark. Is it usually the stator? The coil is good.

it is a 1989 300 trx. No spark. I have been reading the forum. now im really confused> i think i will first check the pulse generator, re check wiring and check the neutral and reverse switches before buying a two hundred dollar stator. this forum is very helpful, but any other advice is great. thanks

could be multiple things, id check spark plug which you prolly did already, coil, starter, soilenoid, and check battery, it might just need a jump. i dunno though there are ppl who know more obut the electrical than i do.

Check the simple things first. Make sure you have a good spark plug and make sure the neutral light is coming on. Also, make sure it's not in reverse.
