hey guys i have a 08 400ex and i just bought a uni air filter for it and when i tried to put it in its longer than the sock filter and the 2 support arms for the stock filter are in the way do i bend them out of the way or do i have to cut them off i would prefer to keep them because i was gonna keep my oem filter as a back up in case i needed to clean one i will have one i can just throw in so i can still ride so any suggestions would be great

nope i double check the part number its the right part number unless uni put the wrong filter in the bag i sent a email to uni on monday but i have yet to get an email back they have great tech support :blink:

really sounds like someone messed up. I just put a uni filter in my 07 250 and it was the same size as the stock filter.

ok guys i talked to tech support at uni filters and the guy said that they make 2 filters for the 400ex the longer one which is the one i have and all i have to do is push it down onto the tabs and it won't hurt the filter and he said its longer so it has more surface area to trap more dirt and can be run a little bit longer than the other filter and he also told me that they do make a uni filter the same size as the stock one but he did not give me the part number for the shorter one so i am gonna try and shove it in and see what happens i will let you guys know how i made out

also the tech guy told me that uni filters makes all the oem filters for honda just thought i would pass that info along :icon_ banana:
