My dear delusional son, Samuk, suggests I fit a winch to my new (to me) Foreman. I'm not so sure as I don't intend going anywhere remotely rough :grin .
However, I do have a spare winch and if it's simple enough I may fit it.
Problem being, and I haven't really looked yet, where do they fit without fouling the radiator?

Anyone got a pic or two showing fitment so I can make a mounting plate up?

As above, 2013 TRX500 FMD (don't know what the "D" stands for, but that's what it is)

You could relocate the radiator onto the front carrier, fit a GR and some 30’s too while your at it

Hmm, see what I mean about delusional ???:eek Honda build them right in the first place, with the help of hundreds of staff and thousands of square yards of R and D labs. And you think I can improve them in a shed in the garden?:grin

Rod' , my neighbor has a 500 with a winch that was installed from Honda , I could try and snap a piece of his mounting plate , I would think it is very similar to my 450 , which I posted a pic of for Sam
That would be great if you could, a pic of a dealer fitted (Honda approved?) winch would be good. I can just copy it then.
Thanks

I have a 2015, and if it would help, I would snap some pictures of my winch mounted. Just advise...

Here is a link which may help as well for install help, http://www.kfiproducts.com/QR-CODES/Winch%20Mount%20Manuals/M100885_small.pdf

According to the WARN Honda ATV application chart, the 2012-2013 Foreman only, takes the same winch mount part number: Warn #87180. Search that part number and you'll find photos of it, Amazon even has a few pics up.

Warn is pricey stuff, but it probably fits right and its probably made strong enough... so even if you opt to buy a cheaper clone mount, you might get an idea what a good clone should look like and where it fits on the frame?

I think Sam is bugging you about mounting a winch on your pristine Foreman, because he's looking for a disaster insurance policy to follow along behind him. Just don't follow too closely... its too pretty to get mud thrown on it. :)

Oh, I see you might be interested in fabbing up your own mount? Thats even better!
Yep, I'll just copy the best one, or get ideas from the best.

Plate made and fitted, winch mounted . Just need to wire it in now. Probably going to go with a wireless controller for (A) I don't have to drill holes anywhere to mount switches, and (B) it means I can work the winch comfortably while standing at either side of it.
