Hi All,

When I bought my 450 FM, it was described as follows:

Honda TRX.450FM 4x4,
Year: 2002
Running well,
Needs a bit of a tidy up,
Needs steering bearing,
Starter motor brushes,
Front diff has electrical fault cause the 4x4 light is flashing,
Apart from that the motor and drive lines are good

I don't receive till Thursday as its in transit, and am wondering how serious the "electrical fault" is,
and where do I start to look for fixing it.
This is not the ES version, and apparently only 2WD is working.

is it hard to fix the steering bearing?

Like to see your thoughts.

Keith..

to give an idea of what the costliest things that could be wrong , it is $420 for the front differential shifter and $140 for the 2wd to 4wd control module , thank goodness I have never experienced any problems yet with my 2002 450FW

If I were you, I would download the free service manual for your machine and read up on replacing the steering bearing and troubleshooting the 4x4 controls. You can download the manual from the "Honda ATV Schematics/Manual Help" section.

Thanks, yes have done that.
Just getting direction where to start.

The manual says I need special Honda tools for the steering bearing?
Looked them up, several hundred dollars worth. Is that correct?
