this just happen all of a sudden ??..or you do some kind of work on it ??..is it automatic ?..manual tranny ?..if it's auto..sorry..can't help you there..if it's manual..your reverse cable sounds like it needs to have some slack takin out of it.

420 comes with different transmissions. If you have the ES one make sure battery is fully charged and in good condition. Check that clutch is adjusted properly and for any blown fuses. Try to change gears manually, if it works you have problems with electrics/sensors/switches. You can have loose/bad/corroded/broken connections or faulty switches.Check connectors on back of engine, maybe one got unplugged. If you have a gear indicator on the dash it will blink if you have problems with the ESP. If you have the 420 AT you better contact Honda.
