I have a 199? 400 Foreman that would start and run good. I retrieved a deer from rugged wood and loaded 4 wheeler on trailer. when I got home gas was pouring from overflow on carb. I turned gas off at tank. next day turned gas back on and gas did not run from overflow, however when you start engine it sounds like a 2 cylinder running on 1. engine will not rev up and will not idle. 1/3 throttle is only place the engine will run. would a carb cleaning help this or does this sound like more. I am 71 and do a little tinkering but not up to major rework.

Hello, welcome to the forums!

It sounds to me like your fuel system needs a routine cleaning. i'd start with the fuel tank... flush it out good, paying attention to the petcock & strainer in the bottom. Your carb will need to be taken off, completely disassembled and cleaned too. There are several ways to do that depending on your resources. You can find a copy of the factory service manual HERE to use for reference and study... Ask questions if you have any.
