Hi, so the neutral light of my 400ex has never turn on since i bought it, but when i set it to neutral it does start even tho the light is not on. I was wondering how could I fix the light not coming on. My headlights are working. I tried to unplug and replug the wires of the neutral lights but still not coming on. Need some help on where to look at

We will need to know the year. But on the left side when sitting on the quad. Just below the shifter lever there is a neutral switch. There should be a wire running down to it. Alot of times people will just ground that wire so it starts without it. All the switch does is complete the ground for the light and tell the cdi box its in neutral. If it wasnt grounded it wouldnt start. So we know its grounded its just a matter of where. Welcome to the forums!

Thanks for the welcoming message and for your reply. And well for the dates I’m not even sure of it, on the papers it is a 00’ but i found 02’ written on multiples pieces.. As for the wire I will check that out tomorrow !

The only thing that matters about year is if its 05 or newer it will have 2 switches down where i told you to look. One for neutral the other for reverse. If its 05 or newer it will have reverse.

Oh ok, then it is def older than 05. I don’t have a reverse
