On trx400 ex my left hub comes loose, not much at all but it's common since over time it will get worse,,,when jacked up ,,,when u move the wheel the wheel moves and the castle nut moves to but just very very little,,,,I made around 8 shims out of a beer can I was drinkn to put in between the nut and hub,,,,,,can someone tell me if this will hold.......and the right hub"with out castle nut but still keeping it snug to the axle"wiggles really bad,,,,the inside of the hub is very worn and hub grooves on the axle are very worn,,so I tighten them up as hard as i could and after hard ridding it stays rock solid on the axle but the castle nut has turned the carter pin into basically an s shape,,,,,,,,,,pleas give advice

Sounds like you might need a new axle if the grooves are wearing out to the point where you have play even when everything is tightened up.

You could try lock tite, and a bigger cotter pin

The hubs are made of a inferior metal on purpose to wear out before and save the axle. But if left go for long periods of time loose it will eventualy ruin the axle also. If tightening the nut dosnt keep them tight then one or the other or both need replaced. I would start with the hub as they are cheap. Usually around 30-40 bucks a piece for oem honda ones. Stay away from the aftermarket anti-fade ones. They will ruin your axle first which is counter productive in my opinion. My .02
