Trx400ex 2005

Hi all, I’ve recently bought a Honda trx400ex atv and it will not move when In gear, however it feels Asif it is shifting through all gears smoothly, now I have taken a look at the clutch plates and they are burnt out and smelly, but I’m not sure on this being the reason for it not moving in gear. Does Anyone have any other ideas as to why it will not move in any gear at all? Thanks.
