-Replaced position sensor
-Replaced shift/lights/ignition controller on handle bars
-checked continuity between gear position sensor and ecu. Everything o
Is ok.
-disconnected ecu and display showed Neutral. Reconnect ecu, no gear position displayed.

Suggestions? Is my ecu shot?

The gear position sensor is connected to both the ecu and the display.
I think the ecu provides 5V to the sensor, then senses which wire is grounded to get the gear.
The display also senses which wire is grounded, but maybe defaults to Neutral. Does the display change gear numbers when you shift with the manual shift tool?

Yes the display changes when the ecu is disconnected and I change gears manually

So it is either a bad ecu, or a bad connector to the ecu. I would install a Bypass Kit instead of replacing the ecu, because a new ecu is expensive and it may be the connector or a wiring issue. Watch the video:
