TRX300 Carburetor Identification Number

Hi all,

I've got myself a genuine Honda repair manual for my ATV and on the page about model identification, it shows the frame and engine numbers but also shows that there is a Carburetor Identification Number
Now I don't recall seeing this in the manuals of other Honda bikes that I've owned before.

Does anyone know if these carb numbers are like the frame / engine numbers and are individual to each ATV or the carb numbers are generic and just tell you model of the carb?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

They are to identify the model of the carb, not to tie a carb to a model or year. They are generally used internally by Keihin or Mikuni. I tried to contact Keihin USA with the model of a carb to ask if it was originally on a California bike and he said only Keihin Japan would have that info

just tells you what make/model carb you have, has nothing to do with the atv/motorcycle. all Honda's, or any other brand/make has these numbers stamped on the carbs.

I've seen numbers stamped on the carbs of other Honda motorbikes that I've owned before, but I've don't recall it being mentioned in the manual on the same page as the engine and frame serial numbers. Therefore I thought that it might be something significant.

Cheers.

pretty much every service manual will list all serial numbers to certain parts, such as carbs, to inform you what make/brand of carb is on your machine. just because it's not listed on the frame and engine page ?, does not mean it's not related to that make/model ?, but it will be listed in the service manual to inform you of what brand of carb is on it :).
