my brother and now my brother inlaw and I all have a TRX250X
we picked up, not having alot of money to sink in them

what are some suggesttions?

like ive heard that 400ex front A arms will work on them but do you have to lengthen your tie rods?

some cheap mods? what carb to possibly upgrade to? ETC.

We have always built up cheaply since noi real budgets but i love riding so i want to keep up
better and have a better ride also

hell i out a 400EX rear shock on my old blaster it was amazing how much better it rode.

anyways anything would be great thanks.

Anytime you put on longer A-arms, you would have to have longer tie rods.

Moose has a 400EX carb on his 250X, but he said it was hard to get jetted right.

Jetting a 400ex carb for a 250X is a PITA but it can be done with paitence. 400A-Arms yes you will have to lengthen the tierods just get the 400 ties also you will have to remove the brakeline bracket to allow more travel of the brake lines or get the 400 lines. you can't use the rear shock from a 400 they are way too long. a 660 Raptor shock works best so I have heard. I suggest the 450R front shock but you will need to go here Diamond J Customs | Quad-Rodding Systems & Suspension Kits to get the shock conversion kit so they will fit. Forget 300EX parts for upgrades since they are the same as the 250X. If you need anymore assistance feel free to ask. Good Luck

This prob mentioned before but. You can turn the front wheels around if you plug the valve stem hole with a upside down valve stem and drill the other side to the same size. It gives you a offset rim and widens the front a bunch depending on the rim.

You don't have to plug the hole and redrill. I flipped mine around but I bought the valvestems that are only 1/2 long and they worked. I have since flipped them back and added spacers.

What is the jetting combo that will work for a 250x with a 400ex carb and what advantages does the 400ex carb give a 250x?

i was gonna put a 400ex carb on my 300ex i aint got around to doing it yet but i did some research and the info i got for jetting was 42 slow jet, 175 main jet, 3 turns out on the fuel mixture. that should get you in the ball park anyway. 400ex a arms will work but you need 400ex tie rods, 400ex or 450r front shocks and a shock relocator bracket. your stock brake lines should stretch from what ive read.

Those seem large jets for a 250x. But i will try it thanks for the info. Trying to get some cheaper mods. Also looking at a K&N filter and removing the airbox lid.
