My TRX250W will not spark, the coil, spark plug and spark plug cap have been replaced - any advice on what the issue might be?

I've been told the CDI unit may be the cause, is that the same as the Ignition Control Module mentioned in the Haynes manual?

Cheers

Tap on the CDI while cranking the engine and see if it starts. If yes, its a cold solder joint or broken printed circuit board trace inside the CDI. Replace with an OEM Honda CDI and don't waste your time on the less expensive but junky Chinese clone part.

I'm guessing that yes, they are the same part.

yes, c.d.i. is what controls the spark. c.d.i.= capacitor discharge ignition.

I had the same issue on my 350. Turned out to be cut stator wires from a blown up sprag bearing. I have no idea how to check a cdi unit if tapping it has no effect.

Cheers
there is no test that anyone can do to test them ?..other than replacing them with a new one ?, or from another atv, same year/make/model that is known to run ?, this is all you can do. unless your highly skilled in taking them apart ?, and can fix them ?, it's buy new, or buy a used one that is known to work.
