Hi, everybody! I am helping my stepson repair his 06 TRX250EX Sportrax. It was smoking really bad (oil smoke), so he pulled the top end off & took it to a local shop for inspection. Shop owner told him cyl. was worn, needed new piston & rings. Got piston kit(Honda OE) & had cyl. bored to match. I can reassemble the engine myself, but I need valve adjustment procedures & specs.,as well as head torque. I know, "Get yourself a manual", but my stepson is a tightwad! He was even going to reuse the original gaskets! I finally talked him out of that idea. Any & all help appreciated.

TIA

So your step son likes spending money needlessly huh? Reusing the gaskets are a very bad choice regardless of their apearance good for you in talkihng him out of that!!. the gasket kits are not that expensive check ebay. if you need valve adjustment look in the schematic forum I believe Saber6 has a post on the 250 ex if not pm him he can help you with that and the torque specs. I strongly recomend replacing the timing chain and guides, but stepson is cheaping out, he will be tearing this engine down soon enough again, if he don't... he got lucky.
