Hey everyone! I am new to the ATV scene and just bought my son a 2001 TRX250EX. As I understand, they DO NOT come with a governor. Any ideas/ suggestions about aftermarket ones? I appreciate any help!!

the governor is built into the c.d.i. how old is your son ?. if he's under 16 ?, then he shouldn't be on one to start with. regardless, if your wanting to limit the speed on the atv because of his young age ?, then your best bet Is to install a throttle stop on the throttle housing .

if you do install a throttle stop ?, MAKE SURE YOU DONT SHOW AND TELL HIM !, or he will '' fiddle '' with it when your not looking...lol.

I am trying to do the same for my son, were you able to find something to limit the speed? Did you finally get to do it?
